NEW AMSTERDAM, Berbice — September 15, 2026
Miss Global International Guyana, Carrie Duncan, departed the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on her way to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to compete in the Miss Global International 2026 pageant.
Duncan was crowned Miss Global International Guyana earlier this year and will now join more than 30 delegates from around the world for the international competition.
The pageant, known for celebrating beauty, culture, intelligence and women empowerment, will see contestants take part in a rigorous week of activities in Jamaica.
During her stay, Duncan will participate in several preliminary segments including a private interview, swimsuit, evening gown, national costume showcase and talent presentation.
Beyond the competition itself, Duncan is also expected to use the platform to champion her personal advocacy on the international stage.
According to the Miss Global International organisation, this year's staging is expected to be one of the biggest yet, with strong emphasis on leadership, tourism and cultural exchange.
For Guyana, the appearance is being seen as more than a pageant outing. It is an opportunity to showcase the country's culture, hospitality and the beauty and resilience of Guyanese women.
Duncan has expressed gratitude to her sponsors, her family and the Guyanese public for their support, and has promised to represent the nation well at the international competition.
