NEW AMSTERDAM, Berbice — October 26, 2026
The Minister within the Ministry of Housing joined the Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister in Kuru Kururu on Saturday to hear residents' concerns first-hand and discuss practical solutions.
The talks covered land occupancy, access to electricity and water, infrastructure and social support. The ministers and residents also looked at the issues affecting the community and at opportunities to help families and businesses move forward.
The Minister within the Ministry of Housing urged young people and small business owners to take advantage of the support, financing and skills training programmes available to them, especially through the Development Bank of Guyana.
She noted that these opportunities can help people gain certification, strengthen their skills, grow their businesses and increase their earning potential.
The minister also reminded residents that loans must be repaid. She explained that responsible repayment allows funds to be made available to others who are seeking similar opportunities.
She further encouraged residents to keep the lines of communication open with community leaders and government representatives as efforts continue to support development in Kuru Kururu.
The engagement gave residents a chance to raise their concerns directly with the ministers, who spoke about the help that is available to families and businesses in the community.
