Minister Persaud Meets With CPA Management to Strengthen Child Protection

Minister of Human Services and Social Security Dr Vindhya Persaud met on Monday with the full management team of the Childcare and Protection Agency, widely known as the CPA, for a working session focused on reviewing the agency’s ongoing work and speeding up the implementation of key child protection programmes across the country.

During the discussions, the management team provided updates on several projects and interventions aimed at protecting children and supporting families throughout Guyana. The team also reviewed the progress of current programmes, discussed new and emerging priorities, and looked at ways to ensure that important child protection initiatives remain on schedule and continue to meet the needs of children and their families.

Minister Persaud stressed the importance of maintaining a results-driven approach, with a clear focus on accountability, teamwork and putting plans into action rather than leaving them on paper.

The Ministry says these efforts form part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening child protection services and improving outcomes for children across the country. The report was filed for LRTVS Newswatch.
