Minister Persaud Encourages Women to Lead With Confidence

Minister of Human Services and Social Security Dr Vindhya Persaud has encouraged women across Guyana to believe in themselves, speak with confidence, and never be afraid to take up space wherever they go.

The Minister was speaking as a panellist during the “Women Building Guyana at Every Level” discussion at the We Lead Association Women’s Conference 2026. She said women have an important role to play in shaping the future of the country, and urged them to support one another, work together to break barriers, and create opportunities for the next generation of women and girls.

The conference was held under the theme “Guyana to the World: Women Building Global Bridges” and focused on both the challenges women face and the important contributions they continue to make in their communities, in leadership and in national development.

The event also celebrated the role women play in influencing positive change, helping to shape policy and building strong communities, both in Guyana and around the world.

Held at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre, the conference brought together women from a wide range of backgrounds to share ideas and experiences and to discuss practical ways of continuing to empower one another. The report was filed for LRTVS Newswatch.
