A Guyanese delegate, Kya Bovell, will represent Guyana at the Essence and Mind Pageant season 4, joining delegates from around the world in a competition described as going beyond beauty.
The pageant celebrates the essence of a woman, the strength of her mind and the pride of her culture. Bovell will compete in several categories including cultural representation, intellect, advocacy and stage presence.
She is described as known for her grace, intelligence and deep love for country, and is expected to showcase the spirit of Guyana as a land of many waters, many cultures and one united people.
Her participation comes at a time when Guyanese talent continues to shine internationally, with organisers noting that Guyana may be small in size but is giant in talent, beauty and purpose.
Support has been pouring in for Bovell from Guyanese at home and in the diaspora, with many rallying behind her as she prepares for the competition.
The management of the Essence and Mind Pageant has described season 4 as the biggest season yet, with a renewed focus on cultural pride and leadership.
Bovell now begins her journey toward the crown, with hopes of bringing the title home to Guyana.
