Ministry Brings Social Services Closer to Residents at Vreed-en-Hoop

Pop-up social services hub at Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling

On Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security held a pop-up service hub at the Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling in Region Three.

The outreach was led by Minister Dr Vindhya Persaud and aimed at making government services easier to access for residents and commuters in the area.

Persons were able to receive assistance with old age pension, public assistance and permanent disability support.

The Ministry also offered on-the-spot registration for the Women’s Innovation and Investment Network, known as WIIN, courses.

More than 100 persons benefited from the services without needing to visit a government office.

Officials say the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to bring important services directly to the people and make support more accessible for communities.
