Region Six to Receive 22 New Garbage Trucks

New garbage trucks for Region Six

The Regional Chairman and Regional Executive Officer of Region Six recently met with NDC chairpersons, overseers and town clerks to discuss garbage collection and disposal across the region.

The meeting focused on the problems affecting waste management, including delays in collection, poor disposal practices and the need for cleaner communities.

To address those concerns, 22 new garbage trucks are to be officially handed over to Neighbourhood Democratic Councils and municipalities on Friday.

Officials say the trucks will make collection faster and more reliable, and will improve sanitation services for residents across East Berbice-Corentyne.

They also stressed that cleaner surroundings matter for public health and for the general well-being of communities.

Regional officials say the new fleet will play an important role in improving waste management and in creating cleaner, healthier communities throughout Region Six.
