NEW AMSTERDAM, Berbice — September 29, 2026
President Dr. Irfaan Ali met with regional executive officers, regional education officers and regional health officers from all 10 administrative regions at State House on Monday.
The meeting focused on challenges affecting service delivery, efficiency and access to quality health care and education across the country.
During the engagement, regional officers raised concerns directly with the president, who issued on the spot instructions aimed at clearing bottlenecks and improving delivery of service.
Officials also reviewed improvements already made in both sectors.
Among the developments highlighted was the use of digital solutions in the health care sector, which has helped speed up delivery of medicines and medical supplies to patients at hospitals and health centers nationwide.
The meeting was also attended by Senior Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, the Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, and Minister of Education Priya Manickchand.
