Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha on Tuesday led the ministry's weekly review of its public sector investment programme (PSIP), examining how ongoing projects and programmes are being carried out.
The minister called together heads of departments and agencies at his office for the session. The meeting looked at the implementation of projects and programmes falling under the Ministry of Agriculture.
Discussions centred on the status of investments being undertaken by the ministry and its agencies. Officials went over the progress made to date and the issues affecting implementation.
They also considered the steps needed to address those challenges and to maintain momentum on the work under way.
The weekly review is a key part of the ministry's monitoring and oversight process. It gives the minister and technical teams a regular platform to assess how projects are performing and to identify areas that need attention.
It also helps to ensure that public investments stay focused on achieving their intended outcomes.
The ministry says the process is aimed at greater efficiency and accountability in the delivery of agricultural development programmes across the country.
