The Ministry of Health has handed over a new bus to the Central Georgetown Health Service team, strengthening transportation support for the group.
The vehicle was officially presented to district medical officer for Central Georgetown, Dr. Jude Bentley, on behalf of the Region Four Central Georgetown Health Service team.
The bus is expected to assist healthcare workers with transportation and strengthen the team's ability to coordinate and deliver essential health services throughout central Georgetown.
The ministry said the addition of the vehicle forms part of its continued efforts to equip regional health teams with the resources needed to improve efficiency, accessibility and healthcare delivery.
During a simple handing over ceremony, Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony reaffirmed government's commitment to strengthening Guyana's health system.
He said continued investment in infrastructure, equipment and other resources is necessary to better support healthcare workers and improve services for citizens.
The ministry said the new bus will contribute to the team's ability to reach and serve communities more effectively.
