NEW AMSTERDAM, Berbice — October 14, 2026
A media mentorship programme is now underway at the Guyana Learning Channel, with participants beginning their training through an introduction to the work of the distance education unit.
On Monday, the mentees were taken on a tour of the unit, giving them a closer look at its operations and the role it plays in delivering educational content.
Over the next two weeks, participants will be exposed to a range of media production skills, including photography, videography, pre-production, video editing, audio production and audio editing.
The programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, giving mentees the chance to build their technical abilities while gaining insight into the media production process.
Through the initiative, the Guyana Learning Channel continues to create opportunities for learning, skills development and exposure to the media industry.
Organisers say the programme is expected to give participants a stronger foundation as they explore their interests and build their capabilities in media production.
