NEW AMSTERDAM, Berbice. Kevin Das has assumed command of the Guyana Police Force’s Regional Division Six, taking over on Friday from the senior superintendent who led the division for more than five years.
The outgoing commander announced earlier in the week that he would be proceeding on leave, with the deputy commander expected to oversee the division in the interim. With Mr Das now formally in post, he takes full responsibility for policing operations across Region Six.
Before this appointment Mr Das served in several capacities in Region Four and most recently as deputy commander of Regional Division Three.
The change comes as the force continues its efforts to strengthen law enforcement and public safety across the regions. As the new commander settles in, attention turns to his priorities for Region Six and the policing strategies he will bring to the division.
