The wait is almost over for thousands of pupils and their families who have been eagerly anticipating the outcome of the 2026 National Grade Six Assessment, commonly known as the NGSA. Education Minister Sonia Parag has confirmed that the examination results will be officially released on 10 July 2026, providing a clear timeline for students preparing to take the next step in their academic journey.
In a message shared on Sunday 14 June 2026, Minister Parag acknowledged the anxiety many pupils and parents have been experiencing while awaiting the results, and explained that the Ministry wanted to provide clarity on the release date.
“I don’t want to keep parents in suspense,” the Minister said, noting that she had seen many comments during the week from parents asking when the results would be available and had met students who were anxious to know. The results, she confirmed, will be released through the Government of Guyana and the Ministry of Education on 10 July.
This year’s examination cycle saw a slight adjustment to the traditional schedule. Because of the timing of the Easter holiday, pupils sat the NGSA after the Easter break rather than before, resulting in a delay of several weeks compared with previous years. Despite the revised timetable, the Minister noted that education officials have been working tirelessly to complete the marking and processing of scripts so that results could be released as efficiently as possible.
Minister Parag also commended the thousands of students who sat the examinations, praising their dedication and perseverance throughout the preparation process. She encouraged pupils to remember that the NGSA represents just one milestone in a much larger educational journey, and said students should use their results as motivation to continue striving for excellence as they transition to secondary school. Entering secondary school, she said, opens the door to new opportunities, including future studies, skills development and career choices.
The Education Minister also extended words of encouragement to students currently preparing for end-of-term examinations across the country, urging them to remain committed to their studies as they work towards promotion to the next grade level in the upcoming academic year.
