GEORGETOWN — President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali continued his community ride initiative in Georgetown on Thursday, engaging directly with residents to gain firsthand insight into issues affecting communities across the capital.
The President was accompanied by Minister of Housing and Water Colin Croal and several senior government officials. The group cycled through First to Fifth Streets in Alexander Village, as well as Riverview, Ruimveldt and Yarrowdam, also known as Company Path.
During the ride, President Ali made several stops to speak with residents, listen to their concerns and discuss possible solutions to the issues raised.
The engagement gave residents an opportunity to communicate directly with the President, while allowing him to assess community needs and identify areas requiring further attention.
The President also outlined development plans for various communities and held discussions with Guyanese of different age groups about the country’s continued growth.
The community ride initiative forms part of wider efforts to strengthen direct engagement between government and citizens, and to bring officials closer to the communities they serve.
